Our Story
Adam and Elle met in Chicago working on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within the entrepreneurial community and felt the need to address the questions that occur after starting a small business, such as how to scale, how to select a new location. They started One More Store as an effort to capture the experiences of entrepreneurs who have chosen to scale their businesses and in the long run, work to document and help communicate outward best practices and strategies.
Adam H Phillips is the Managing Director of Techstars Equitech Accelerator where he looks for early stage ventures to fund and grow in the Baltimore ecosystem. He is the former Founding Managing Director at MoxE, a non-profit based out of Chicago, where he built an impact fund that provides early funding for both growth and regional businesses that would otherwise have struggled to raise startup capital from their friends-and-family networks.
Adam is also the founder of AthletesInnovate, a former Senior Attorney and Director of Innovation at USDOT, an Adjunct Professor and still thinks of being a basketball coach to 7th graders as the best job he ever had. He holds a BA (Psychology) and a MA (History) and JD.
Elle Ramel is the Chicago Director for GET Cities, a city-based initiative to advance women in entrepreneurship. Prior, she project managed the redevelopment of the Michael Reese Hospital site for Farpoint Development and economic development policy in Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office at the City of Chicago.
